Jewish Community Briefing and Networking with LAPD
On September 7th at 6:00 pm, LAPD Deputy Chief Blake Chow, who is in charge of the West Bureau, will be joined by his command staff for a public briefing. This will be an opportunity to hear directly from the LAPD professionals who serve our community, including Deputy Chief Chow, who will share LAPD’s plans for the upcoming Jewish High Holidays. It is also a chance to learn more about the recent “swatting” of synagogues and other Jewish institutions throughout Southern California and the recent burglaries in Pico-Robertson. Just as importantly, it is a unique forum to share your own views with the LAPD.
LAPD Operations West Bureau and ADL Los Angeles, along with CSI and CSS invite you to join us for Jewish Community Briefing and Networking with LAPD on
Thursday, September 7, 2023, 6:00 - 7:30 PM at

Soliciting / Door-to-Door Selling
We would like to remind homeowners that Beverlywood is not a gated community and does not own the streets or sidewalks. Post Alarm Officers do not have the jurisdiction to apprehend or legally remove solicitors from public streets or sidewalks. The City of Los Angeles is no longer enforcing the Soliciting Ordinance (http://clkrep.lacity.org/onlinedocs/2009/09-1611_ord_181642.pdf) and LAPD will not respond to calls of this nature. Here are a few tips to combat this situation:
§ Install a NO SOLICITING sign on your property.
§ Do not open the door to solicitors.
§ Solicitors can only do door-to-door selling from 8 AM - 8 PM.
§ Solicitors must present the following upon request:
§ Photo Identification (must include person’s DOB and be issued by a governmental agency or educational institution).
§ Copy of the Business Tax Registration Certificate.
Please keep in mind that Post should be notified about solicitors as they can monitor the subjects for any suspicious activity.
Safety & Security Reminders
§ Keep your property secure; lock your doors and windows.
§ Arm your alarm when you leave your home. If you do not have them, install glass break and/or motion sensors as recent burglars have gained entry via breaking glass doors/windows in the back of homes.
§ Encourage your gardeners/landscapers to secure their equipment when unattended. A lawn mower was recently reported stolen on Beverlywood Street (9600 block).
Crime & Incident Reports
August 26, 2023 - Burglary - Duxbury Circle
On Saturday, August 26, between 9:30 PM and 10:00 PM, two masked individuals entered the backyard of a home on the 2300 block of Duxbury Circle. The burglars entered via a side gate and breaking a glass door in the back of the house while the residents were out of town.
Unfortunately, the home’s alarm was not turned on giving the burglars time to ransack the home for valuables. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
The homeowner reported this crime to LAPD and LAPD is actively investigating this burglary.
